John Mutch - Head Coach

John Mutch - Head Coach

Coach Mutch is entering his 9th year as the head coach with the baseball program. He graduated from Brecksville in 1995, and continued his baseball and football careers at Walsh University. At Walsh, he earned All-Conference honors twice and played on the conference championship team in 2000. After his college career, Coach Mutch spent time during 2000 playing in Holland. He began coaching baseball in the spring of 2001 as an assistant in the program.

Steve Sycz - Assistant Coach

Coach Sycz is entering his 8th year with the program. Although this is not his only experience with Brecksville Baseball. He spent 11 years as the head coach of the program from the seasons of 1989-2000. He now comes back to us as an assistant and brings lots of experience and knowledge. Coach Sycz has also taught in the school district for 34 years and has spent time coaching other sports.

Ryan Franks - Assistant Coach

Coach Franks enters his 2nd year with the baseball program. A native of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Coach Franks spent the majority of his upbringing in Kalamazoo, MI, where he attended Portage Northern High School. During his senior campaign, Ryan finished his high school career on the Michigan All-State Dream Team.

After high school, Ryan then continued his education and playing career at Kalamazoo Valley Community College. In Kalamazoo he earned back to back All-American honors at first base. From Michigan he then took his talents to Cleveland State University where he finished his career and earned 2nd team All-Conference his junior year. While at CSU he majored in Psychology.

Bill Miko - Assistant Coach

Coach Miko enters his 4th year with the baseball program. He spent his first season as the head coach of the freshmen team. The last 2 seasons he as served as the head coach of the junior varsity team. Coach Miko also has several years of experience coaching summer teams throughout his career.

Mark Hassinger - Assistant Coach

Coach Hassinger is entering his first year with baseball program. He is a 2006 Brecksville-Broadview Heights graduate, where he lettered in football and baseball. After high school, Coach Hassinger continued his education at Kent State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Education. He has several years coaching experience coaching travel baseball in Wadsworth, as well as the Aspiring Athletes of Akron baseball team. Coach Hassinger also coaches the freshmen football team for Parma City Schools.

Rich Brown - Assistant Coach

Coach Brown enters his first season with the baseball program. He played for Brecksville while in high school and lettered twice. After high school, he continued his playing career at Ashland University. Over the past four years he has worked and coached many youth teams and players in Northeast Ohio. In the fall, he will continue his collegiate baseball career by attending Wheeling Jesuit University.
