Coach Mutch is entering his 10th year as the head coach with the baseball program. He graduated from Brecksville in 1995, and continued his baseball and football careers at Walsh University. At Walsh, he earned All-Conference honors twice and played on the conference championship team in 2000. After his college career, Coach Mutch spent time during 2000 playing in Holland. He began coaching baseball in the spring of 2001 as an assistant in the program.
Coach Sycz is entering his 9th year with the program. Although this is not his only experience with Brecksville Baseball. He spent 11 years as the head coach of the program from the seasons of 1989-2000. He now comes back to us as an assistant and brings lots of experience and knowledge. Coach Sycz has also taught in the school district for 34 years and has spent time coaching other sports.
Coach Franks enters his 3rd year with the baseball program. A native of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Coach Franks spent the majority of his upbringing in Kalamazoo, MI, where he attended Portage Northern High School. During his senior campaign, Ryan finished his high school career on the Michigan All-State Dream Team.
After high school, Ryan then continued his education and playing career at Kalamazoo Valley Community College. In Kalamazoo he earned back to back All-American honors at first base. From Michigan he then took his talents to Cleveland State University where he finished his career and earned 2nd team All-Conference his junior year. While at CSU he majored in Psychology.
Coach Suschak is entering his 3rd year with the baseball program. He graduated from Brecksville in 2007 where he earned Louisville Slugger All American honors, as well as 2nd team All State following his senior year. He continued his baseball career at The University of Toledo where he earned 2nd team all MAC honors and was drafted and signed in the 7th round of the 2010 amateur players draft by The Atlanta Braves, following his junior year. After a 3 year career in the Atlanta farm system, he spent time in the Independent Frontier League with the Lake Erie Crushers and the Normal City Corn Belters in 2013. Coach Suschak began coaching in the off season of 2010, at Impact Sports, as the Pitching Coordinator.
Coach Hassinger is entering his 2nd year with baseball program. He is a 2006 Brecksville-Broadview Heights graduate, where he lettered in football and baseball. After high school, Coach Hassinger continued his education at Kent State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Education. He has several years coaching experience coaching travel baseball in Wadsworth, as well as the Aspiring Athletes of Akron baseball team. Coach Hassinger also coaches the freshmen football team for Parma City Schools.
Coach Martin is entering his first year with the baseball program. A native of Oregon, Ohio, Coach Martin attended Clay High School before continuing his baseball career at Bowling Green State University. At BGSU, he was a member of three regular season MAC championship teams as both a pitcher and outfielder, earning All-MAC Academic Honors his senior year, and was also awarded the Scholar-Athlete-of-the-Year award twice. Coach Martin is also teaching science at the high school in his first year in the district.
